Caramel Chocolate Crunch Bars

1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional for drizzle)
Step-by-Step Instructions
STEP 1: PREPARE THE BASE
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed pretzels, melted butter, and granulated sugar until the mixture resembles wet sand.
Press this mixture firmly into a greased 9×9-inch baking pan to form an even layer.
Bake for 8–10 minutes, then set aside to cool completely.
STEP 2: MAKE THE CARAMEL LAYER
In a medium saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter, and heavy cream over medium heat.
Stir constantly until the mixture begins to boil. Continue cooking for 4–5 minutes, or until the caramel thickens.
Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
Pour the caramel evenly over the cooled pretzel crust. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to set.
STEP 3: ADD THE CHOCOLATE TOPPING
Melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 30-second intervals and stirring until smooth.
Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the caramel layer.
If using, melt the white chocolate chips and drizzle over the top for added decoration.
STEP 4: CHILL AND SERVE
Place the baking pan in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or until the chocolate is completely set.
Once firm, slice into 16 bars. Serve and enjoy the perfect crunch with every bite!
